Registration of Employment Terms in Cyprus’ ERGANI System

The Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance has issued a new Decree requiring all employers in Cyprus to register the Basic Terms of Employment for their employees through the «ERGANI» Information System. This obligation applies to all employment relationships and must be fulfilled during the designated submission period from January 2 to February 28, 2025 (deadline extended to 31/5/2025). The aim is to enhance transparency and ensure compliance with labor regulations across all sectors.

What Employers Must Register

Employers are required to input comprehensive employment details into the ERGANI system, including:

  • Employer Information: Identification, registered address, and business type (for retail businesses).
  • Employee Information: Full name, ID, job description, specialization, and start/end dates (for fixed-term contracts).
  • Workplace Details: Contractual and actual workplace locations.
  • Compensation: Salary/wages, payment frequency, allowances, commissions, and cost-of-living adjustments.
  • Working Hours: Daily/weekly hours, including unpredictable schedules if applicable.
  • Additional Terms: Probationary period conditions, annual leave allocation method, and other benefits.

Employers are encouraged to act promptly to meet the deadline and avoid penalties while contributing to a more transparent labor market in Cyprus.
